The Practical Driving Test

Your practical driving test will last for approximately 30 - 40 minutes and should take in different styles of roads, roundabouts and junctions.

During this time you will be asked to perform one of the manoeuvres that you have already learnt, the turn in the road, reversing left, parallel parking or bay parking routine, one in three tests will also include an emergency/controlled stop.

You will also be asked to drive independently for about ten minutes or so, this could be done in one of three different ways,

A. You could be asked to follow a map which will be shown to you, the map consists of various junctions/roundabouts,.
B. You could be asked to follow signs, for example, the airport.
C. You may be given multiple directions, again just for example it could be something like, right at first roundabout, follow the road ahead until you get to the crossroads and turn left at the next roundabout.

All the above should have been taught to you prior your test 'and' on your mock test.

You are allowed to receive no more than 15 driving faults, but you must not get any serious or dangerous faults.

Your instructor should have explained the difference between a driving fault, a serious fault or a dangerous fault to you.

The mock test is a simulation of the real thing, so take it seriously.
